Supporting the Implementation of the Academic Strategy
Proper implementation of community-led, whole child model helps to establish sustainable child wellbeing solutions. Melian Foundation education programme focuses on improving the access to and quality of learning opportunities for all children from birth, through childhood and adolescence. We measure our success by the positive improvements in children’s learning outcomes in cognitive, social and emotional, life and livelihood skills.
Our digital survey tool, MEQA, enables on the ground real time implementation assessment and coaching; and provides detailed, accessible data for project management decisions. We work hard to reach the most vulnerable children such as those in extreme poverty, with disabilities, out-of-school children, and affected by crisis.
Our approach fits and adapts continuously to diverse and rapidly changing contexts across the development, humanitarian and peace nexus. We work with local partners to drive the social behavior change required to address obstacles to children’s developmental and learning journey. In coalition with others we strengthen education systems at household, community and national level.
Pre Education
Majority of the marginalized community does not have awareness of the importance of pre-education program. Mean while pre-education programs is the only program that prepares children to easily embark the formal academic programs.
Our role is to engage parents, academic institutions, government in implementing already existing strategies or advocating for establishing new strategies to support marginalized children access this crucial programs.
Primary Education
As the focus of Primary Education is to equip children with the general knowledge including empowering them with reading and writing skills, awareness of different subject that has influence and impact in their lives.
This stage is the foundation of all that the children will face ahead. Our role to provide support to the already established strategy and where necessary advocate for new strategies. Melian Foundation is committed to supporting children in need to access Primary Education across Tanzania.
Secondary & Higher Education
Melian Foundation supports programs that enables secondary and higher education students make right choices of what they want to achieve in life. We introduce different programs collaboratively with academic institutions, government to facilitate the availability of necessary awareness and choices program.
The Results
The outcome 1 of the program is to make sure all children are prepared for Primary Education and when they reach Secondary and Higher Education they are aware of the choices they have to make and thrive through.
The outcome 2 is to make sure all children have access to education. The government of Tanzania has shown the way by waivering education costs to a level that parents needs only to cutter the costs of basic needs. Our program will ensure that parents are AWARE of the importance of EDUCATION for their children. In the process ensuring GOVERNMENT strategy is implemented at 100%
